Camp Cards

  Camp Card

Camp Card sales begin on March 23rd.  There are many great returning offers as well as new offers on the 2015 cards.

This is a great opportunity for the youth to pay for their way to camp or earn money to pay their dues. If a youth in a Unit wants to sell Camp Cards the Unit will need to complete the Unit registration form. Here is a link to a copy of the Leader’s Guide.

Merit Badge Councilors

Now that the recharters are complete we have a current list of Merit Badge Councilors. This list will be on the Big Tepee website. under Advancement and will be updated monthly.

If your name is not on the list then you will need to re-register.

Also during the Council Coordinated meeting it was discussed and they have put a limit on the number of Merit Badges that a councilor may teach to ten merit badges. Guidance from the Council Advancement Committee should be coming soon.

Stolen Trailers

In case you had not heard, one of our Big Tepee Troops had two of their Troop trailer stolen this weekend. It is never good to hear about someone stealing from a youth group, but it hurts even more when it is one of ours. To make it even worse it was Troop 47 from South OKC. The area they serve is one of the lowest income areas in our Council, not just our District. The Troop estimates that with both trailers and the equipment they have accumulated over their 67 years will cost about $50,000 to replace.

We would like to ask all Troops or anyone in the District that might have excess equipment to consider donating it to Troop 47. If you do not have excess equipment, they have set up a GoFundMe account to help raise money to start replacing the trailers and equipment.
