Camp Cards

  Camp Card

Thank you everybody for taking advantage of another great card put together by the Council.  This card not only offers great savings all year long to card holders, but it REALLY can pay our way to all of our upcoming summer camps and more.

Can you think of anyone not wanting this card?!  When one does the math it’s hard to save less than $100.  Realistic savings for a family is over and above $150.  For example, in the next 12 months, if a family:

  • Spends $40 at Walgreen’s,
  • Spends $50 at Bass Pro,
  • Eats at Sonic 1X / month,
  • Changes their car’s oil every 3 months, and
  • Eats at TGI Friday’s 1X / month;
  • Total Savings = $161 with 2015 Camp Card

Let’s make the most of this opportunity provided by our Council and make sure EVERYONE gets a card!  Remember our scouts EARN 50% from each card sold.

Turn In Schedule

  • March 23 thru Camp Card Sale
  • May 16, 2015
  • May 18, 2015 End of Sale. 50% Commission
  • May 29, 2015 Last Day to Receive 50% Commission.
Units Turning in on or after May 30 commission drops to 35%.

Spring Recruitment

Spring recruitment is just around the corner. As some of you know we have previously done Tiger Hunt’s in the spring. We have decided to make this a recruiting opportunity for all Cub Scout aged boys.

Kindergarten aged boys cannot actually become Tigers until the end of the school year. For this reason we would like to start this Spring Recruitment no earlier than the last week of April. Any earlier and these new Tigers would  be waiting over a month before they could actually attend a meeting.
Each Pack will need to provide a individual, that will be the point of contact for that Pack with regards to Spring Recruitment. This individual will be responsible for contacting the schools in which they recruit from and setting up dates that they can hand out flyers and scheduling Boy Talks if allowed. They will also be responsible for requesting flyers, before April 6th., this will allow us time to get your flyers printed before the April Roundtable.
Please provide your Pack’s point of contact to David Atkinson @ Flyer request can also be sent to Terry or David.

If any Troop’s would like to do recruiting at this time please feel free. Recruiting is a year round activity, we are just doing a District wide push at this time. Please contact  David Atkinson @ if your Troop would like to have flyers printed.

2015 Spring Webelos Woods

We had a wonderful time at Webelos Woods last weekend. We had 90 boys attend. The various Troops showed off there skills to the Webelos, to help the Webelos decide what Troop they may like to join.

Merit Badge Councilors

Now that the recharters are complete we have a current list of Merit Badge Councilors. This list will be on the Big Tepee website. under Advancement and will be updated monthly.

If your name is not on the list then you will need to re-register.

Also during the Council Coordinated meeting it was discussed and they have put a limit on the number of Merit Badges that a councilor may teach to ten merit badges. Guidance from the Council Advancement Committee should be coming soon.
